CHRIS PITSIOKOS

Chris Pitsiokos (b. 1990) is a saxophonist, composer and improviser. His music combines the intensity and immediacy of no wave and noise with the lyricism and forward propulsion of jazz and the abstract detail of contemporary classical composers Iannis Xenakis, Brian Ferneyhough, and Helmut Lachenmann. Recent/current collaborators include Lydia Lunch, Tyshawn Sorey, Peter Evans, Kevin Shea, Brian Chase, Henry Kaiser, Mick Barr, Marc Edwards, Brandon Lopez, Brandon Seabrook Tim Dahl, Philip White and Weasel Walter. Chris has performed throughout Europe, Japan, Australia, and the US. In addition to performing and composing music, Chris runs his own record label, Eleatic records, curates the Gadfly Series at New York venue Spectrum, and programs a radio show at WKCR-FM.

NOAH PUNKT

Noah Punkt (b. 1984) is a bass player, composer and improviser. His music combines the intensity and immediacy of rock music and noise with the lyricism and forward propulsion of jazz and the abstract detail of contemporary classical composers like Bernd Franke, Siegfried Thiele, Steve Reich and Helmut Lachenmann. Recent/current collaborators include Tobias Pfister, Ramón Oliveras, Jan Roth, Mark Weschenfelder, Tim Daisy, Uli Kempendorff, Peter van Huffel, Robert Lucaciu, Rea Dubach, Lukas Rutzen and many more. In addition to performing in Europe and composing music, Noah runs his own record label, otherunwise, curates concerts in Leipzig and is working at Jazzclub Leipzig.

PHILIPP SCHOLZ

Philipp Scholz (b. 1990) is a drummer, composer and improviser. His music combines the intensity and immediacy of rock music and noise with the lyricism and forward propulsion of jazz. Recent/current collaborators include Nora Gomringer, Werner Neumann, Heinrich Köbberling, Rudi Mahall, Pablo Held, Hayden Chisholm, Jürgen Friedrich, Uli Kempendorff, Yves Theiler, Johannes Enders, Chris Pitsiokos, Claudio Puntin. In addition to performing in Europe and composing music, Philipp curates the concert series “Reihe2” in Leipzig and is working at Jazzclub Leipzig.
